Artist Statement

My imagery emerges from memories and imagination; it reflects flashes of land, sea, and dwelling places. The true essence lies in the symbolism of each work. Subject matter becomes secondary to an emotional reaction to the landscape, color, or movement. Gesture and emotion are critical elements in my work. My new work has direction and control, yet there remains a spontaneity and freshness of line and color.

My studio is located in the Gowanus Art Community and I am a member of the 440 Gallery in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY
